Abstract

Objective. To determine the level of family satisfaction of adolescents in Lima during the COVID-19 pandemic according to sociodemographic variables such as sex, age and school grade. Methods. A quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental design study. The sample consisted of 302 students between 14 and 17 years of age belonging to 4th and 5th year of high school. The sample was selected by simple random probability sampling. The family satisfaction scale was used to collect the information. Results. The adolescents who participated had an average age of 15 years, with 61% female predominance and 57% belonging to the 4th grade of secondary school. The results showed that the medium level of family satisfaction is the prevailing one, with 35%. According to sex, 36% of the male gender prevailed with a high level of family satisfaction, while, in the female gender, 38% had a higher percentage with the medium level of family satisfaction. With respect to age, adolescents aged 16 had more predominance with the low level and, on the other hand, on the grade of study there is a greater number in 4th grade with the medium level (36%), and in 5th grade with the low level (37%). Conclusions. It is observed that 35.4% of the participants have a medium level of family satisfaction, while the minority, 30.8%, had a high level of family satisfaction.
