Programa de consejería en la mejora de la ansiedad y la depresión de personas con VIH en una organización de base comunitaria de Lima, Perú

Objetivo. Evidenciar la efectividad del Programa de consejería para mejorar la ansiedad la depresión de personas con VIH en una organización de base comunitaria de Lima (Perú). Métodos. Estudio cuasiexperimental con grupos control y experimental, a los cuales se aplicó una medición pre- y postest. El instrumento de medición utilizado fue el inventario de ansiedad y depresión de Beck, que se aplicó a una muestra de 36 personas viviendo con VIH en una organización de base comunitaria. Para la contrastación de hipótesis se utilizó la prueba de rangos con signo de Wilcoxon. Resultados. Los resultados muestran que no hubo una diferencia significativa entre la orientación sexual, la edad, el nivel educativo y el nivel socioeconómico de los grupos de control y experimental (p > 0,05). Así mismo, se evidenció que el Programa de consejería tuvo un efecto positivo en los niveles de ansiedad y depresión (p < 0,01). Conclusiones. Se evidencia que la aplicación del Programa de consejería ha sido efectiva, evidencia la disminución de la ansiedad y depresión de personas con VIH.
