Satisfaction of schoolchildren with oral health promotion teaching tool: Odonto App Kids

Objective. Compare satisfaction with the use of Odonto App Kids in schoolchildren from private and public educational units in the city of Riobamba, Chimborazo province, Ecuador. Methods. A cross-sectional descriptive observational study was developed, whose population consisted was made up of health professionals (N=1551) who work in the health institutions of the municipality. The data was collected through the document review technique, considering the information stored in the databases of the regulatory body. The non-parametric inferential chi-square test made it possible to compare the frequency distributions of the variables from the association due to non-homogeneity. Results. A predominance of schoolchildren surveyed classified the usability of Odonto App Kids in the high category (44.2%); while, in the results of satisfaction, a predominance of the medium level could be seen (52.3%). The comparison values were: Mann-Whitney U (1481), Wilcoxon W (3434) and Z (-0.227) with p=0.821. Conclusions. The scientific potential of the System of Science and Technological Innovation in Health in the municipality of Sagua la Grande has characteristics that favor the generation of products that have an impact on health care services.
