Author Guidelines

To ensure proper submission of your manuscript and avoid unnecessary rejections, it is recommended that you carefully review and comply with all submission guidelines according to the type of paper. The guidelines detail formatting, length, structure, citation, and other editorial requirements (see Instructions for authors).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Original article

Detailed report of an unpublished empirical, theoretical or methodological research. It must include introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions. Its length ranges between 4,000 and 8,000 words, not counting references.Original article

Review article

Critical and systematic analysis of the scientific literature on a given topic, in order to identify trends, gaps and projections. Its length ranges between 5000 and 10000 words, excluding references.

Legal essay

Argumentative text that presents a critical reflection on a topic related to education, based on theoretical foundations and academic sources. The suggested length is 3000 to 6000 words.

Book review

An argumentative text that presents a critical analysis of a recent academic book related to the journal’s thematic areas, supported by theoretical foundations and relevant academic sources. The review must include the full reference of the book, a synthesis of its content, a critical assessment of its contributions and limitations, as well as its relevance to educational research and practice. The suggested length is between 1500 and 3000 words.

Letter to the Editor

Short communication aimed at commenting on articles previously published in the journal, raising critical observations or sharing academic reflections.
