Código de ética

Revista Jurídica Peruana Desafíos en Derecho adheres to the principles and ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure the responsible conduct of all parties involved in the editorial process: editors, editorial board, authors, reviewers, and technical staff. The journal is committed to guaranteeing integrity, transparency, impartiality, and ethical quality at all stages of manuscript evaluation, review, and publication.

Responsibilities of Editorial Actors

Authors

  • Ensure that the manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.
  • Properly cite all legal and academic sources and references used.
  • Include all co-authors who have made a significant contribution to the work.
  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.
  • Indicate the use of artificial intelligence tools (LLMs), if applicable.
  • Respond ethically and promptly to reviewers' comments and observations.
  • Actively participate in the correction and galley proof process.

Editors

  • Verify that manuscripts comply with the journal’s editorial and ethical policies.
  • Assign specialized reviewers, ensuring impartiality and confidentiality.
  • Guarantee confidentiality throughout the editorial process and regarding received manuscripts.
  • Make editorial decisions based on academic, technical, and ethical criteria, free from personal or external influences.
  • Issue retractions, corrections, or editorial notes when necessary.
  • Resolve ethical conflicts and ensure compliance with COPE principles.

Editorial Board

  • Ensure the academic quality, legal relevance, and scientific significance of published articles.
  • Advise the editor on strategic decisions and editorial policies.
  • Propose topics, sections, or special issues when necessary to strengthen the journal's focus.
  • Promote the journal within national and international academic, legal, and scientific networks.
  • Participate as reviewers or guest editors when appropriate.

Reviewers

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively, ethically, confidentially, and constructively.
  • Provide well-founded, technical, and clear reports that contribute to strengthening the articles.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves in case of incompatibility.
  • Not use information contained in manuscripts for personal or third-party benefit.
  • Submit evaluations within the deadlines established by the journal.
