Revista Jurídica Peruana Desafíos en Derecho (RJPDD) is an open-access scientific journal edited by Universidad de Huánuco (Peru), aimed at disseminating knowledge in the field of legal and social sciences, with a particular focus on law, politics, and society studies. Its purpose is to provide a rigorous academic space for publishing original and unpublished research that promotes analysis, reflection, and the exchange of ideas on the contemporary challenges faced by legal systems and societies.
Scope
RJPDD includes works developed from theoretical, empirical, or methodological perspectives related to topics such as criminal law, civil law, constitutional law, procedural law, international law, environmental law, human rights, criminology, public policy, legal ethics, and interdisciplinary areas. The journal accepts contributions in Spanish and English and adheres to a double-blind peer review process, ensuring quality, transparency, and editorial impartiality.
Target Audience
RJPDD is intended for researchers, university professors, undergraduate and graduate students, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, public officials, legislators, policymakers, and academics interested in the field of law and social sciences. The journal seeks to strengthen the link between scientific production and its practical application, fostering critical thinking, legal debate, and commitment to justice and social development.
Frequency
RJPDD is published semiannually, with two issues per year: the first covering January-June and the second covering July-December. Accepted articles are published in the first month of each period after completion of the editorial and peer review process.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
RJPDD does not charge fees for processing, reviewing, or publishing articles. Submission, evaluation, and publication of manuscripts are completely free for authors, in line with its open-access policy and commitment to democratizing scientific knowledge.
Peer Review Process
RJPDD evaluates all manuscripts through a double-blind peer review system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers. This process guarantees the quality, originality, and rigor of published works.
Upon receipt, each manuscript undergoes a preliminary editorial review to verify compliance with basic criteria of originality, thematic relevance, formal structure, and adherence to editorial guidelines. If approved at this stage, it is sent to two external reviewers who are specialists in the article’s topic and who issue their evaluations independently.
Reviewers are selected based on their academic experience, scientific production, and affiliation with prestigious national or international institutions. Their responsibility is to assess the conceptual quality, theoretical relevance, methodological coherence, and contributions of the article.
Possible decisions include: accepted without changes, accepted with modifications, or rejected. In case of discrepancies, the article will be sent to a third reviewer whose decision will be final. If both evaluations are conditional, the corrected version will be re-evaluated by one of them. Articles with two negative evaluations will be rejected.
The editorial team guarantees that all decisions are supported by well-founded reports. The estimated time for the final decision does not exceed 45 calendar days from submission. Authors will have 15 calendar days to submit the corrected version and up to 10 days if additional revisions are required.
Accepted articles will undergo final scientific editing, including style correction, metadata completion, and galley proofs. The final version will be sent to the author for approval within 5 calendar days. Formal acceptance will be communicated only by the Editorial Committee through the institutional email editorial@udh.edu.pe.
